I have been a photographer for what seems like forever. When I was about 12 my father gave me his Argus Rangefinder. I instantly fell in love with photography.
A few years later I was photographing advertising, corporate and editorial assignments in Dallas, TX.
In 1995 American Airlines sent me to Germany to photograph a story on the popularity of the American Cowboy in Germany. This job was fun and crazy. I met people that really wanted to be cowboys, some to the extent of building western towns and on weekends pretending to be just that, cowboys.
Later that year they sent me to France to photograph a story on wine. It was an exciting assignment going up into the French mountains where I would photograph wine chateaus. During this trip I made my first visit to Paris and fell in love with "La Ville-Lumire"
While I was there I made the decision to take a hiatus from advertising, concentrate on travel photography and move to Paris.
Two years later I made my first trip to Asia, specifically the Philippines. I had studied with a Buddhist Master from there and had always worn a good luck charm from the Philippines my dad gave me when I was 7 or 8. Looking back now it seems it was destiny.
Sure enough two years later back in the Philippines on my fourth trip I met the woman who would be my wife and the mother of my daughter.
Photography is my passion. I am continually trying to learn, to see things in a new way and progress, to find who I am through my photography.
Sometimes when I am lucky I am still that kid with an Argus.
Besides photography I love to surf, exercise, read, play the guitar and spend time with my daughter Jade.
